Dhanush to perform 'Kolaveri di' live in Mumbai
It will be a perfect confluence southern star Dhanush will sing his hit number 'Kolaveri di', while TV actress Jiaa Manek, popularly known as Gopi of Star Plus' 'Saathiya', will match steps with his tunes at the BIG Star Entertainment Awards in Mumbai Sunday.
Actor-singer Dhanush, son-in-law of cinematic icon Rajinikanth, is in Mumbai already to pe...rform at the event. He will entertain the entertainers with his Tamil-English song, which went on to become a rage through online social networks.
The singer recently attended the finale of Zee TV's singing reality show 'Star Ya Rockstar', and sang 'Kolaveri di'. But it is for the first time that he will perform the song at an awards function.
The event, to be held to honour talent in films, television, music, dance and sports, will see the who's who of the glamour industry in attendance, and performances by Priyanka Chopra, Jacqueline Fernandes and Salman Khan.
The show will be telecast on Star Plus on New Year's Eve.
Dhanush sung two songs for Irandam Ulagam
Dhanush starrer tentatively titled movie Irandam Ulagam is progressing fast as planned. This Selvaraghavan directed film got delayed little because of the director’s wedding with his assistant Geetanjali. And also because of Rajini’s ill health as the film’s hero Dhanush had been shuffling here and there between Chennai and Singapore. Well now as Dhanush is back in Chennai and Selva is done with his marriage, the brothers are now concentrating on completion of the film at the earliest possible.
GV Prakash is the music composer. Hero Dhanush had sung two songs Oda Oda Dhooram and Kadhal Yen Kadhal in this film, says the music director. Another interesting point to be noted is that Dhanush and Selva have penned a few lyrics for this film.

Performing actor and national award winner Dhanush and veteran director Chimbu Devan are teaming up for an upcoming project. As announced earlier, the project is very much o and is in pre-production stage as of now. The actor said that the venture is expected to go floors soon. The other caste and technical crew of the movie is yet to be decided and announced officially.

Vengai story:
Vengai is typical movie of Hari’s stamp. It is just the tale of father and son affection and in between comes some action and love which forms Vengai.
Selvam (Dhanush) is the son of Veerapandi (Raj Kiran) who is an influential person in a village in Sivaganga district and does all good for the welfare of the village. Prakash Raj fondly called as Annachi becomes MLA for this region and Veerapandi takes an oath from Annachi to do only good things for the people in the village. However, Annachi brings out his evil image and does all illegal activities to make money and exercise his power. But Veerapandi, who gets angry with his activities, tries to stop them. Selvam who comes to know about his activities takes things in his hands but his father sends him to Trichy.
Selvam comes across Radhika (Tamannah) who is his childhood friend. Both of them within no time fall in love for each other. As Veerapandi is always standing as a problem for his activities Annachi decides to settle Veerapandi scores. From here the Tom and Jerry show starts between them. How Annachi takes revenge on Veerapandi? Will the love life of Selvam and Radhika turn successful? How will Dhanush settle the scores with Annachi? Checkout for the answers on the big screens…….
Performances:
Dhanush once again wins the hearts of audience with his superb performance as an angry young man. His mannerisms, ease in performing tough fights and gracy dance movements are the show stealers. Overall, Dhanush lived up to the expectations in all aspects.
Speaking about Tamanna, she is a perfect fit for the role of Radhika. She oozes in glamour in traditional outfits too and looked ultra glamorous in songs with skimpy outfits.
Prakashraj was again usually at his best. It looks like words are not enough to praise Prakash Raj as he is the tailor-made for the role of a corrupt politician. He also brought out some laughter which reminds his character in Ghilli.
Raj Kiran played his part well. He brought out anger, agony, frustration and love in right proportions. Comedy by Ganja Karuppu has brought some laughs.
Technicalities:
Director Hari yet again proved that he is good at handling mass masala films. His most gripping screenplay and effective narration will impress the viewers. True winner is Hari for his jet speed screenplay.
Vetri’s cinematography is worth mentioning and especially the way he captured the village beauty, songs and action sequences is good. Vijayan’s editing was sharp and made the movie not to loose its grip. Production values are great. Music by Devisri Prasad is peppy and foot-tapping. All the songs were excellently picturised.
Analysis:
For all those who have the heart to enjoy the regular formula based, masala action films…Vengai serves you 100% satisfaction. First half was neatly brought out with the right force for second half by successfully creating a strong conflict between hero and villain. Again the action drama continues in second half. Action based formula movies always have their own stamina to break the BO.
The audiences feel satisfied as Hari has some good moments along with thrilling moments coming out as a surprise in the climax. Action, racy script, strong and gripping narration, power packed performance of Dhanush and Raj Kiran, Tamanna glamour and DSP’s music stand as plus points of the film. On the flip side, the film has a familiar theme in regular style of Hari. Given the good amount of publicity by the team and a word of mouth, Vengai has all the chances to make it big at BO, especially ‘B & C’ centres.
Vengai is a regular action formula film with sundry elements of entertainment sprinkled around. Worth a look-in if you are a fan of Dhanush or Tamanna.

National award for Dhanush
The 5th Annual Vijay Awards witnessed coming together of the most eminent personalities of Tamil film industry. What surprised the most were the unexpected arrivals like Sun Pictures Hans raj Saxena and many more celebrities, who took a break from shooting and made their way to Nehru Indoor Stadium. Vijay Awards have come a long way since the first ceremony that took off grandiosely before 5 years. The highlight of this event was the jury members recognizing the need to honor special achievements that don’t usually fit into the fixed categories like ‘Best find of the Year 2010’. Winners of National awards were also honored during this occasion.
‘I am really thankful to the people, who have accepted me as an actor and I also feel it’s the greatest honor than any other awards’ said Dhanush. Filmmaker Vetri Maaran, editor Kishore, actor Jayabalan, poet Vairamuthu, Saranya Ponvannan, Thambi Ramaiah and choreographer Dinesh were felicitated.
Vikram won the ‘Best Actor Award’ for his splendid performance in Raavanan while Anjali walked up to dais to get the ‘Best Actress Award’ for Angaadi Theru. Double cheers for Superstar Rajnikanth fans as he won a couple of awards – Best Villain and Favorite Hero for Endhiran. Dhanush received the award on behalf of his father-in-law and read out a note from the Superstar thanking everyone for their prayers and love.
Angaadi Theru brought in two more honors: Best Director (Vasantha Balan) and Best Film. Prabhu Solomon was rewarded for his brilliant story and screenplay for Mynaa. National award winners Thambi Ramaiah and Saranya Ponvannan won ‘Best Supporting Male and Female Actor awards’ (Mynaa and Thenmerku Paruva Kaatru).
Santhanam emblazoned the entire auditorium with fun making witty comments on Udhayanidhi Stalin, director Rajesh, VTV Ganesh and compeer Shiva Karthikeyan of Vijay TV fame for nearly15 minutes. ‘KJ Yesudas is the only competitor for our Ganesh’ humorously added Santhanam, who requested Ganesh to bless him with a song.
It was a musical triumph for Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya as A.R. Rahman won ‘Best Music Director’, Vijay Prakash – (Best Playback Singer Male) for ‘Hosanna’ and Shreya Ghosal (Best Playback Singer Female) for ‘Mannipaaya’.
‘Best Find of the Year 2011’ was awarded to Remo D’ Souza (Choreography) and Madhan Karky (Lyrics). Raghava Lawrence was considered for a special category ‘Social Responsibility Award’ for his generous contribution towards the wellbeing of poor and underprivileged section of society. Veteran Filmmaker K. Balachandar was awarded the most prestigious ‘Chevalier Sivaji Ganesan Award’ and Choreographer Sundaram master was felicitated with ‘Contribution to Tamil Cinema’ award. His protégés Shoby, Dinesh and others paid tribute to their master shaking their legs for some of his evergreen chartbusters with same choreography.
Vairamuthu was honored with ‘Best Lyricist Award’ for Thenmerku Paruvakaatru. While receiving the awards, he didn’t miss to speak about the bleak scenario of present trend of songs. ‘Earlier, songs were meant to relish the essence of lyrics, but today it is used more for dance and beats.’
Best Choreographer award was given to Dinesh for ‘Jilla Vittu’ song in Eesan and he entertained the spectators performing few steps for the song. Suriya was given ‘Best Entertainer of the year Award’ for his commercial hit movie Singam. Best crew of the Year 2010 was given to Mynaa Team while Viddarth and Amala Paul won ‘Best New Face Male and Female Awards’ for the same film.
A.R. Murugadoss called upon versatile cinematographer Santhosh Sivan to announce the winner of ‘Best Cinematography 2010 award’ that was given to Rathinavel for Enthiran. Selva Kumar (Best Art Director Award for Madharasapattinam), Anal Arasu (Best Stunt Director for Naan Mahaan Alla), Kasi Viswanathan (Best Editing for Naan Mahaan Alla) were the other winners.
Trisha won ‘Favorite Heroine Award’ for Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya while Favorite Film of the Year was given to Endhiran (Sun Pictures) and Shankar was chosen for Favorite Director Award (Endhiran).
Mumbai based dance group ‘Mumbai Experts’ gave an electrifying performance for the remix versions of ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’, ‘Boom Boom Robot’, ‘Irumbile Oru Idhayam’, ‘Nangai’ and few more tracks. Shriya Charan, Bharath and Amala Paul sizzled with their rocking dance performance for some of the chartbusters of 2010.
Famous anchors Gopinath and Shiva Karthikeyan entertained the spectators with their humorous compeering.

Mappillai Dhanush has thrown a surprise success party to his family, friends and also the unit of Mappillai.
The actor was on high on sky with the film being declared as a hit. The film opened well at the box office and also received mixed reviews. However the crowd is seen all over rushing to the film.... As there is no competition at box office at present the film will do much better during the second week too as the people are enjoying their holidays.
The party was attended by Dhanush and his family, director Suraj, Vivek and all the cast and crew of Mappillai.
Dhanush is enjoying the success of the film and dedicated the success to his father-in-law Rajinikanth. He also confessed that making of film of Rajini’s film is quite hard but somehow it’s by god grace the film was accepted by fans.

Mappillai release date postponed
The duo Sun Pictures and Dhanush have been successful in setting up new track record, for both their previous movies: ‘Padikadhavan’ and ‘Aadukalam’. Well now all is set to complete their hat-trick spell with ‘Mappillai’ starring Dhanush in the lead. This commercial entertainer directed by Sooraj. As reported earlier this is a remake of yesteryear Rajnikanth movie with the same title.

According to the latest buzz, the producers of Dhanush starrer latest movie titled Maappillai have decided to release the audio tomorrow, Friday. They wanted to arrange a grand function of the same and release the music scored by Mani Sharma.
Suraj has directed the movie Mappillai. Dhanush, Hansika Motwani, Vivek and Manisha Koirala are portraying the key roles of the movie.

Nowadys the young acyor seem to be very busy with the work, after the release of Aadukalam.He flew back to Chennai after the shoot of his new flick Hari's Vengai for being a part of the audio launch of his Mappilai directed by Suraj.
Dhanush commented about the music of Mappilai in twitter. He twitted that there are so many Kuthu Numbers and his rasi remix. Actress Manisha Koirala will reprise the role of Srividya.
